SFA Webinar: Ins and Outs of Import Alerts
Import alerts are an important tool that the FDA uses to monitor the safety of food and beverage products entering the U.S. They signal that products in violation must undergo "Detention Without Physical Examination," allowing the FDA to detain the item without inspection.
FDA recently issued a broad import alert for economically motivated adulteration. In the Regulatory Update webinar titled "Import Alerts: How to Understand Them and What SFA Members Should Know," attorney Jeni Lamb Rogers will discuss everything makers and importers need to know about import alerts, including how to read them, and how specialty food businesses should consider them as part of a food safety plan for importing foods and ingredients.
The webinar will take place today, March 7, at 1 p.m. EST. It is free for members and $19 for non-members. Register now.
