Lioni Latticini wins Gold and Silver at the 2023 World Cheese Awards for their Bufala Cheese Products

Union, NJ October 30, 2023 Lioni Latticini, Inc. has been named among the winners at the World Cheese Awards, held at the Trondheim Spektrum, Norway, on Friday, October 27. Together with 4,502 entries, from 43 countries Lioni’s Bufala Fresca, and Ricotta di Bufala were recognized by the world’s leading cheese experts at the most respected international cheese-only competition. Experts carefully evaluated each cheese, rating factors such as appearance, aroma, body, texture, and most notably, its flavour and mouthfeel.

Lioni’s Bufala Fresca Mozzarella won Gold with the Ricotta di Bufala cheese winning Silver. This award is the second time Lioni won Gold at the World Cheese Awards (2018) for their Bufala Fresca product.

Lioni’s bufala products are crafted in the U.S. with 100% grass-fed buffalo milk imported from Italy. They reveal an alluringly distinctive flavor with a deliciously creamy texture and are made fresh-to-order providing customers with authentic fresh buffalo milk cheese with the longest possible shelf-life.

Bufala fresca has a shelf-life of 21 days from date of manufacture and is currently available in two sizes, 4 oz., and 8 oz. with 4 oz for retail and 4 oz and 8 oz for foodservice. Ricotta di Bufala, an extremely delicate perishable cheese has a shelf-life of 14 days from date of manufacture - currently available in a 12 oz random weight package sold to foodservice with a newly designed retail pack in production.

All Lioni’s La Linea Premium line products have garnered World Cheese awards throughout the years, including their well-known popular Burrata Con Panna (Gold/2012), Burrata Con Tartufo (Super Gold/2015), and their Stracciatella Panna di Latte (Bronze/2022).
