Charles Snitow was a creator of the modern trade show after World War II. A food, wine and cigar connoisseur, he presented the first Fancy Food Show in 1955 at New York's Astor Hotel and continued running the show for 25 years. A tough negotiator and conciliator, he brought together competitors, labor, and management--often over fine food, drinks and cigars.
