It’s artisanally made with just 5 pantry ingredients and an over 50% butter to flour ratio. Dufour also produces frozen hand-made hors d’oeuvres and hand-crafted, ready-to-bake tart shells (foodservice only) for chefs who seek a homemade result. Founders Judi Arnold and Carla Krasner looked to enter a burgeoning specialty food world when a caterer asked if they’d make puff pastry hors d’oeuvres for her events. Their surprise to learn caterers and chefs don’t make everything in-house was the “aha” moment that led them to develop labor-saving pastry products of a quality that top chefs can represent as their own. New products answering customer needs include a plant-based pastry dough and time saving pre-sheeted small sizes. Still women owned, Dufour continues to further creativity in both the chef’s and the home kitchen.
