Walmart and Aldi shared today that they have begun offering holiday savings geared towards making Thanksgiving affordable.
According to Walmart, 92 percent of its customer base indicate a level of concern about how inflation impacts holiday celebration. In response, the retailer is presenting deeper discounts and deals.
Walmart highlighted the role that Rollbacks, its price reduction program, plays in saving consumers money. It shared that this season, it is “pulling out all the stops…to deliver unprecedented savings.” Additionally, starting November 1 through December 26, the retailer will remove inflation price increases on many food items to offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal at lower prices than last year.
“Saving money remains a top priority for our customers, and this holiday season, we’re building on the investments we made last year knowing they need it now more than ever,” said John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart U.S., in a statement. “We’re better positioned than ever before to deliver on our purpose, to help customers save money and live better, especially during the most exciting time of the year.”
To help customers spend less this Thanksgiving, Aldi is presenting savings on more than 70 holiday-related food items.
Starting November 1, and lasting throughout the holiday season, Aldi will reduce prices up to 50 percent across the store.
“Thanksgiving is all about gratitude, and we’re so grateful for our many loyal customers from coast to coast,” said Dave Rinaldo, president of Aldi, in a statement. “With inflation still looming, we're providing shoppers extra relief to make the holidays a time for celebration, not stress. What’s served on the Thanksgiving table is just as important as who’s sitting around it, so ALDI is delivering big savings on key items so there’s always room for more guests.”
