Colavita, a family-owned importer and distributor of Italian foods, revealed Monday that it has acquired O Olive Oil & Vinegar, a California-basedmaker, from parent company Curation Foods.
Founded in 2007, the O brand specializes in Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Champagne Vinegar, and Sherry Vinegar. It also features an assortment of other responsibly sourced olive oil and vinegar items.
"I'm happy to announce this important acquisition," said Giovanni Colavita, CEO of Colavita USA, in a statement. “We are happy to bring back O to a family-operated business and culture after a transitional period as part of a public company. I want to thank our team, the Curation team and our respective consultants for making this transaction happen so effectively."
After the acquisition, Colavita named Paolo Colavita as CEO of the O brand. He is currently VP of Colavita's west coast operations and will manage the team based in Petaluma, California, leading the growth in U.S. and worldwide markets.
