WinCo Foods, a supermarket chain based in Boise, Idaho, is looking to establish a one-million-square-foot distribution center in Ellensburg, Washington, reports Daily Record.
The proposed development would cover 100 acres and include a grocery distribution warehouse, truck returns warehouse, driver waiting building, and a check-in building.
“Site constraints are present due to the existing on-site wetlands, buffers, and groundwater depths. These constraints render design alternatives such as a larger building footprint to reduce roof height and/or below-grade construction of the facility infeasible,” according to JSA Civil.
City officials confirmed the current height variance in the proposal has been approved, and the developers are on track to apply for a building permit. There is no timeline set for the facility’s completion. Full Story
