Whole Foods Market will open a store in Massapequa Park, New York on Wednesday, October 6. The 38,500-square-foot store will feature products from the Tri-State area, picked by the local forager for Whole Foods’ Northeast region, Chris Manca.
The store will also feature a full-service coffee bar, a prepared foods section, a selection of 200 beers, including local options from Barrier Brewing Co., Montauk Brewing Co., and Garvies Point Craft Brewery. There will also be a specialty department dedicated to celebrating cheesemakers, artisan producers, and specialty foods like chocolate and handmade pastas.
To give back to the Massapequa community, Whole Foods Market will support Island Harvest’s “End Childhood Hunger” initiative, which will provide underprivileged students in Long Island schools backpacks filled with fresh food items. Whole Foods Market will also provide $5,000 to Nassau Food Rescue, supporting hyper local food banks in the Massapequa community.
