Whole Foods to Debut California Store

Whole Foods will open a location in Culver City, California on August 10. The 51.413-square-foot storefront will feature over 1000 local items from Southern Californa, all selected by the local forager for Whole Foods’ Southern Pacific stores, Elena Garcia.

The location's features will include:

• Organic, conventional, and Sourced for Good local produce options

•  A specialty department overseen by cheese mongers featuring local and artisan cheeses

• A full-service seafood counter where all items are sustainable wild-caught or Responsibly Farmed

• A full-service meat counter with hot smoked meats, made-in-house sausage, local offerings, and more

• A selection of over 350 craft beers, 120 spirits, and 800 wines, with a variety of local items on display

• A taproom, called The Cul Bar, with 24 beers on tap

• Baked items made in-house, special diet items, and local options

To give back to the greater Culver City community, the grocer has made donations toward fencing and irrigation systems at the Good Earth Community Garden, and provided funding for irrigation systems, tends, and soil to LA Green Grounds, a community organization focused on creating edible public gardens for LA residents. Additionally, Whole Foods will partner with Communities in School to support nutritious after-school snacks for children in the West Adams school system.
