Volpi Foods, a family-owned and operated specialty cured meat producer based in St. Louis, announced yesterday that Sprouts Farmers Market will be the exclusive grocer to stock its new Salame Beer Flight product. The product is expected to launch later this month.
The product features three pairings of three ounces of savory salame infused with three distinct beer styles: IPA, lager, and stout.
“Craft beer has been on the rise in popularity for well over a decade, particularly amongst millennial consumers. That popularity inspired us to explore something new and special to resonate with Sprouts’ shoppers,” said Deanna Depke, fourth-generation marketing manager at Volpi Foods, in a statement. “The culture around craft beer is experimental and creative, so we teamed up with a local, St. Louis-based, craft brewery to infuse our classic salame and create a Beer Salame Flight that’s the first of its kind.”
The IPA Beer Salame features the citrusy flavors prevalent in the beer, thanks to the hops used in the brewing process. The Lager Beer Salame has more of a simple taste, and the Stout Beer Salame is characterized by deep roasted flavors which mimic the complexity of the beer.
All of Volpi’s products are sourced from Raised Responsibly abiding farms that promise to put animal welfare first. The Beer Flight joins Volpi’s existing wine-infused salame line which includes a Chianti Salame, Pinot Grigio Salame, and Rosé Salame.
