Video: MIT Develops Grocery-Packing Robot
Researchers from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) recently showcased RoboGrocery, a robot that can pack grocery items based on weight, size, and shape without damaging the items, reports Forbes.
RoboGrocery has vision technology, motor-based special awareness, soft tactile sensors, and an algorithm that determines how to pack an item as it comes down a conveyor belt, according to the report.

Director of CSAIL Daniela Rus along with Erna Viterbi, professor of electrical engineering and computer science, said that integrating soft-handed robots with the algorithm enables grocery-packing automation.
"This is more than just automation—it's a paradigm shift that enhances precision, reduces waste and adapts seamlessly to the diverse needs of modern retail logistics," said Rus. Full Story
