Vegan Sub Chain Debuts

Specialty Food Association

Only Plant Based! brand of mayos and sauces has partnered with “Shark Tank" winner Mrs. Goldfarb's Unreal Deli and Acelerate to lauch the nation's first vegan sub chain.

Home of deli-style plant-based meats like corned beef, turkey, and steak, Unreal Deli expanded its placement of sliced meats at grocers and restaurants nationwide following a successful 2019 pitch to "Shark Tank" by owner Jenny Goldfarb.

This newest venture between Unreal Deli, Only Plant Based!, and Acelerate--a ghost kitchen business--will bring the plant-based sub chain to cities across the country. To date, the Unreal Cheesesteak, Reuben, Albuturk'y Sub, and other vegan subs and sandwiches can be found in restaurants in Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, and Raleigh.

"These subs are outrageously delicious; one would never know they're all made of plants. Thanks to our extraordinary partners for bringing it all to life,” said Unreal Deli Owner Jenny Goldfarb, in a statement.

Only Plant Based! is supplying condiments for the deli’s sub sandwiches like the all-vegan Albuturk’y, which features Unreal Roasted Turk'y, Violife Cheddar, lettuce, banana peppers, tomato, pickles, and Only Plant Based! Chipotle Mayo. Launched in the U.S. last year and now on more than 1,000 store shelves nationwide, Only Plant Based!’s eggless, shelf-stable mayos, dressings and sour cream—popular throughout Ireland and the U.K. before debuting in the U.S.—include Original Mayo, Chipotle Mayo, Garlic Mayo, Ranch Dressing, and Sour Cream.
