After a soft opening in December, Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace has officially opened its seventh store on New York’s Long Island, its ninth location overall. Built on the site of a former King Kullen, the 39,241-square-foot store was gutted and retrofitted to Uncle Giuseppe’s standards.
The store features a full-service deli offering homemade dishes prepared using traditional old world recipes; an in-house bakery showcasing specialty cakes, pastries, breads, and desserts; a custom-cut meat department with in-house butchers, fresh and organic produce, a full seafood department, a gourmet cheese department displaying selections from around the world, and special viewing rooms where pasta and mozzarella are made fresh daily in front of the customer through protective glass partitions.
In addition, there is a variety of pre-packaged meals, and a soup and salad bar with an array of ready-to-eat items prepared daily by in-store chefs. Sushi chefs create sushi rolls, specialty rolls and sashimi, and take custom orders. A gourmet chocolate, candy, and gelato station greets shoppers as they enter the store, and a full coffee and espresso bar is available with seating at a six-foot distance. There are also general grocery, dairy, and frozen food offerings, as well as home delivery and curbside pickup.
