To determine who deserves the best pizza in Chicago title, Truff has launched its “TRUFF Best” campaign, asking pizza fans throughout the U.S. to vote for their favorite Chicago pizzeria online. The winning restaurant will receive $10,000 along with the title.
"Our team has always been fascinated by the enthusiasm surrounding iconic food dishes across America and how they shape the culture of its city," said Nick Guillen, co-founder and co-CEO of Truff, in a statement." In Chicago, we've found that pizza is more than a commodity, it's a symbolic exchange of community. Our goal is to shine a light on Chicago, its most sacred delicacy, and the restaurants behind it all."
Accompanying the contest is an advertising campaign with billboards around key Chicago neighborhoods, as well as two content series: “The Deep Dish with John Buscemi” where Buscemi invites famous local friends to chat about Chicago life, and another series where two local YouTube creators visit restaurants to showcase the history and styles of Chicago pizza.
This is the company’s second campaign of this type; launched in September 2021, Truff crowned South Philly’s John’s Roast Pork as the winner of its best cheesesteak in Philadelphia contest.
