Sprouts Expands Philadelphia Footprint

Sprouts Farmers Market is planning a six-location expansion in the Philadelphia area, five years after launching in the city, reports Philly Voice. The additions will more than double the local presence to 11 locations.

Three new stores will come to Philadelphia itself, one is planned for adjacent Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and two more are expected to open in undisclosed locations. Two of the Philadelphia stores will open by mid-2024 with the third slated for 2025.

Sprouts stores offer a farmers' market experience and an open layout featuring fresh produce at the center of the store. Seasonal and attribute-driven products such as organic, plant-based, keto, and paleo offer a treasure hunt shopping experience, according to the company.

Last month, Sprouts opened its 400th store in Haddon Township, New Jersey. It also began hiring at four locations across California, Nevada, and North Carolina.

“The expansion not only marks a significant milestone, but also represents our success in offering high quality better-for-you products to our customers coast to coast. To our remarkable teams, loyal customers, and supportive partners, thank you for being integral to this incredible accomplishment,” said Jack Sinclair, CEO of Sprouts, in a statement.

After launching in Chandler, Arizona in 2002, Sprouts has expanded across roughly 23 states. Full Story
