During last week's Specialty Food Live! event, food makers showcased their new and bestselling products in virtual showrooms. Here are some cookies, kits, and mixes that made their debut.
Ginger’s Breadboys LLC introduced gingerbread cookie kits at the event, the company’s first-ever trade show. Born out of a desire to provide family and friends with more gingerbread cookies for the holidays, the woman-owned company makes gingerbread cookie kits. Each makes just over 3 dozen 5-inch gingerbread boy cookies.
For the 2020 holiday season, the company created gift box kits including linens, aprons, and face masks along with the cookies. The company is testing a gluten-free mix for the 2021 holiday season and hopes to add pot holders to its gift box kits.
Real Treat showcased its new Pantry line of cookies, in nostalgic flavors like Chocolate Chunk, Oatmeal Rasin, and Brown Sugar Shortbread. These cookies are meant to bring back childhood memories of tea parties and after school snacks.
Real Treat also has a Top Shelf product line, which has been described by The New York Times as “cookies for the sophisticated set,” in gourmet flavors like Lemon Sablés with Herbes de Provence and Dark Chocolate Chunk with Smoked Pecans.
Sustainability-focused Renewal Mill has added three SKUs to its portfolio: Upcycled Cookie Mix, Upcycled Oat Chocolate Chip Mix, and Upcycled Protein Oat Milk Flour. These new products feature the company’s new branding and tagline, “Fight climate change from your kitchen.”
“‘Fight Climate Change From Your Kitchen’ inspires all of us to take an active part in shaping the story of our food system and in writing a new one,” said COO Caroline Cotto, in a statement. “It’s a hopeful, but intentional message. Together we can affect change while, of course, enjoying delicious food.”
