Specialty Food Innovators Accept Leadership Awards

“Having gone through Cambodian genocide, the Killing Fields, starvation, and labor camp and coming here [to the U.S.] basically with empty hands, I really understand what it feels like to be in need and to receive assistance from caring organizations,” said Channy Laux, CEO of Angkor Cambodian Food and winner of an SFA 2021 Leadership Award for Citizenship, during last night’s award ceremony, part of Specialty Food Live! “An act of kindness of strangers may not solve every problem we have, but it gives us hope and that’s a lot and the impact of the kindness will affect future generations. I’m feeling blessed that Angkor Cambodian is able to give back.”

Laux was one of seven specialty food innovators who received a Leadership Award, which honor those who are transforming the specialty food industry. Laux’s acceptance video and that of the other recipients can be viewed here.
