Simply Good Foods Acquires Only What You Need

Nutrition-focused food and snack brand The Simply Good Foods Company said Thursday that it has successfully acquired plant-based ready-to-drink protein shake maker Only What You Need (OWYN).

“The acquisition of OWYN represents a significant strategic win for Simply Good Foods. It introduces a third complementary brand and opens the door to a new consumer segment, significantly strengthening our position in the rapidly expanding RTD shake market and solidifying our leading position with retail partners,” said Geoff Tanner, president and CEO of Simply Good Foods, in a statement. "We are confident our market strategies will drive profitable growth through enhanced distribution, greater household penetration, and a cost-efficient supply chain.

Simply Good Foods also noted that, by combining both brands’ research and development efforts, the companies hope to improve product performance and explore areas for innovation.

Other brands from Simply Good Foods include Atkins and Quest Nutrition.
