The ShopRite of Huntington Commons, a new 65,000-square-foot supermarket, in Huntington, NY opened Sunday.

The location is owned by the Greenfield family, third- and fourth-generation grocers who own five other ShopRites on Long Island, New York.

“We are proud to open our latest ShopRite store in Huntington and excited to bring ShopRite value and quality foods and products to the community,” said Seth Greenfield, co-president of Greenfield’s ShopRite, in a statement. “Long Island is home to our longtime family business and we are grateful for the continued support from the community.”

The family’s newest store offers a kosher bakery under the supervision of the KOF-K Kosher certification, an in-store Nuts Factory featuring a variety of specialty nuts, and unique sweet treats.

The store also includes a bakery, floral shop, prepared foods department, seafood department stocked daily, meat department staffed with trained butchers, and a sushi station. It offers a selection of fresh produce, organic, gluten-free, and local products.

With an emphasis on reducing its eco-footprint, the store incorporates energy-efficient refrigeration and LED lighting throughout. It employs approximately 250 full- and part-time associates at full capacity.
