In September, the California Senate passed the California Food Safety Act, which bans four food additives currently permitted in foods by the Food and Drug Administration.
Governor Newsom signed the bill on October 7. Now signed into law, the ban will go into effect on January 1, 2027. New York has proposed a similar bill.
Attorney Jeni Lamb Rogers will discuss the bill and current regulations around the ingredients during SFA's Regulatory Update webinar titled "Food Ingredient Bans." The event will take place today at 1 p.m. EDT.
The webinar is free for members and $19 for non-members. Register now.
