Schuman Cheese Appoints CEO

Schuman Cheese has announced that Steve K. Snyder will replace Neal Schuman as CEO of the company, effective immediately.

Snyder was appointed by Schuman, the third-generation leader of the family company. whose father and grandfather also served as CEO. Snyder will be the first CEO outside of the Schuman family to assume the role. He will continue to receive support from Schuman who is now chairman of the board.

“We are excited to welcome Steve to the Schuman Cheese family and plan to work closely to build on the company’s successes while staying true to the core values that have guided us these last seventy-five years,” said Schuman in a statement. “Steve brings us a fresh vision for the company’s continued success and expansion trajectory. I am confident that his experienced leadership, know-how, and clear strategic perspective will be pivotal to our next phase of growth.”

Snyder’s most recent role was president and CEO of Whitehall Specialties, a Wisconsin-based processed and plant-based cheese manufacturer for which he launched a new plant-based division. He joins Schuman Cheese at a time when the company is leading in many cheese categories. The company hopes to grow into categories with new plant-based and dessert brands.
