Raley's to Open O-N-E Market Store

Specialty Food Association

Raley’s will open its converted El Dorado Hills, California Raley’s O-N-E Market on April 17. The format will focus on organics, nutrition, and education as well as a curated assortment of products that meet standards of wellness and sustainability. This particular store was selected because Raley’s loyalty program indicated the community is interested in more organic offerings and products with clean ingredients.

“We are wholly committed to our purpose of changing the way the world eats, one plate at a time. It inspires and guides every decision we make, including this one to convert our El Dorado Hills store,” said Keith Knopf, Raley’s president and CEO, in a statement. “We care deeply about the health and well-being of the people and communities we serve and take our stewardship as a neighborhood food company seriously.”

In every department, items will be selected to exclude ingredients from the Raley’s O-N-E Market banned ingredients list, such as high fructose corn syrup, artificial preservatives, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, excess added sugar, and hydrogenated fats and oils.

The location will also offer Raley’s Something Extra Health program, a new feature of the company’s loyalty program designed to help interested customers on their personal wellness journeys. Led by a nutrition advisor, the program will offer classes, store tours, nutrition coaching, and personalized supplement recommendations at no cost to members.

As part of the brand’s commitment to transparency and education, store team members will receive initial training from Raley’s nutrition strategist and brand influencer, Yvette Waters, and ongoing education from the nutrition advisor to support their understanding of the department standards and assist customers in navigating the aisles.

The first Raley’s O-N-E Market opened in Truckee, California, in June 2020, but this is the first time the company is transforming an existing Raley’s location to a Raley’s O-N-E Market. This conversion will create more space on the shelves for the better-for-you items customers are seeking.

The store, located at 3935 Park Drive, will be temporarily closed from April 12 to April 16 for it to be transformed. It will reopen as Raley’s O-N-E Market at 8:00 am on Saturday, April 17 and celebrated with a virtual grand opening on Facebook Live.
