Raley's said Friday that it has successfully converted two in-store cafes to Starbucks kiosks. The locations are in Sacramento, California and Incline Village, Nevada.
Over the last five years, Raley's has invested in community gathering spaces to provide customers with a place to relax and socialize while in-store, noted the grocer.
“Raley's is excited about our collaboration with Starbucks,” said Krissy Garris, director of food service at Raley's, in a statement. “Starbucks brings a wealth of expertise and resources that complement our core strengths of in-store beverage and dining offerings. The Starbucks name is synonymous with quality and consistency and together, we can address market challenges more comprehensively and provide even greater value to our customers.”
The cafes are designed to enhance the overall shopping experience, according to Raley's. Across the chain in California and Nevada, the company provides multiple coffee offerings including Peet's, local Sacramento company Chocolate Fish, and specialty coffee Drink Coffee, Do Stuff.
In addition to the in-store cafes, Raley's has introduced seven beer and wine bars that showcase local wines and beers by the glass as well as gathering rooms for customers to build community, said the retailer.
Raley's and Starbucks also revealed plans for additional locations to open this spring, and for several more to roll out over the next three years.
