Publix, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health, will distribute approximately 15,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to customers ages 65 and older, announced Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The vaccine will initially be available at 22 stores in Citrus, Hernando, and Marion counties. Each store can schedule approximately 120 vaccinations per day, while supplies last.
“It’s our privilege to work with Governor DeSantis as a distributor of this important vaccine. We’re grateful to play a role in helping to protect the health and well-being of people at risk of serious complications from the coronavirus,” said Publix Vice President of Pharmacy Dain Rusk. “We look forward to a time when everyone who wants a vaccination is able to receive one.”
Vaccinations are by appointment only starting today.
