Publix Super Markets Inc. announced Tuesday that it has signed a lease for a second store in Kentucky. Like the first Kentucky store, this location will be in Louisville. The Publix will feature a 55,701-square-foot Publix supermarket, including a drive-thru Publix Pharmacy and an adjacent 2,800-square-foot Publix Liquors offering beer, wine, and spirits.
The store is anticipated to open in the first quarter of 2024.
Publix CEO Todd Jones spoke on the supermarket chain’s continued growth into the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
“We are proud to be planting roots in Jefferson County and look forward to building lifelong relationships with our new customers,” he said, in a statement. “With two planned stores currently in development, we are excited to continue sharing our Publix culture and commitment to service with the Bluegrass State.”
The company announced its entry into Kentucky, its eighth state, in September.
