Price Rite Marketplace Donates to Chicopee Families

Price Rite Marketplace teamed up with anti-hunger organization Feed the Children, the Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee, and PepsiCo to distribute food and essentials to 400 local families on Thursday. The event was part of Price Rite Marketplace’s 2023 Feeding Minds & Bodies Campaign which helps support food-insecure families in local communities, according to Price Right parent company Wakefern Food Corp.

“Our Feeding Minds & Bodies program is one of the many ways Price Rite Marketplace serves the communities in which stores operate,” said Kevin McDonnell, president of Price Rite Marketplace, in a statement. “We are excited to work with Feed the Children and the Boys & Girls Club this year to provide resources to children and families in need in nine cities.”

Each family received boxes of food, personal care items, children’s books, backpacks filled with school supplies, bottled water, Price Rite Marketplace gift cards, and other assorted items provided by Feed the Children and Price Rite Marketplace.

“Children cannot thrive unless their basic needs are met,” said Travis Arnold, president and CEO of Feed the Children, in a statement. “A widespread issue like childhood hunger will only be solved when enough people work together. Partners like Price Rite, PepsiCo, and the Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee are vital to our mission as we serve vulnerable communities."

Since partnering with Feed the Children through the Feeding Minds & Bodies Campaign, Price Rite Marketplace has contributed nearly three million pounds of food, helping more than 165,000 people in 49 cities.
