Biden to Sign TikTok Sell-or-Ban Measure

Congress passed legislation Tuesday that would ban TikTok or force its sale, reports The Washington Post.

The Senate approved the measure 79 to 18 as part of a package offering aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan. President Biden said he will sign the bill into law as soon as it hits his desk today.

Once signed, the provision will give ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, about nine months to sell the app or face a national ban, a deadline President Biden could extend by 90 days.

TikTok is expected to challenge the measure, setting up potentially lengthy legal battle. Full Story
