Ahold Delhaize shareholders appointed Jolanda Poots-Bijl to the management board during the recent Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders in Zaandam, the Netherlands. She will assume the role of chief financial officer on October 1, 2023.
Poots-Bijl will join Ahold Delhaize in mid-August as EVP of finance and member of the executive committee until she transitions to CFO. She joins the company from offshore construction firm Van Oord, where she has been CFO since 2016.
“I will dedicate my 20 years of CFO experience in various industries, my passion, time, and high level of energy to the company and its strategy, with a keen eye on people, sustainability, and innovation,” said Poots-Bijl during the meeting.
Poots-Bijl will succeed Natalie Knight, who has been CFO and member of the management board since April 2020.
“We are looking forward to Jolanda starting,” said Frans Muller, CEO of Ahold Delhaize, in a statement. “Her extensive experience as a finance leader and passion for digital transformation and sustainability will be of important value to our company.”
