Specialty Food Association

Peapod Digital Labs, Ahold Delhaize USA’s ecommerce service, has named the participants in its first-ever incubator program for diverse-owned suppliers. The program targets suppliers for its Private Brands portfolio and is designed to develop new, high-quality, private-labeled products.

The following brands will participate in the program:

• Nuttin Ordinary, an LGBT- and minority-owned plant-based cheese company.

• Rhythm Roasting Company, a minority-owned coffee supplier and support organization for coffee growers.

• Whole & Free Foods, LLC, a woman-owned company and maker of foods free from the top 14 allergens, corns, and sugar.

• Battle Tested, LLC, a veteran-owned, gluten-free, all-natural barbecue sauce brand.

• Mr. Kooks Inc., a minority-owned company producing a line of Indian simmer sauces.

“We are excited to welcome the 5 diverse-owned suppliers to our Private Brands Incubator program,” said Ian Prisuta, SVP of private brands at Peapod Digital Labs, in a statement. “We look forward to working with each brand, introducing them to our Private Brands team, structure, and goals, and helping them expand their knowledge about the brands of Ahold Delhaize USA.”

The participants will learn from the company’s private brands team about the general private brand’s structure and goals during the two-and-a-half-month program. They will also have the opportunity to learn about all of Ahold Delhaize’s brands, and propose product concepts to be considered by the company.

The incubator program will culminate in a livestreamed event in November where a winner will be announced.
