Bob’s Red Mill is expanding into the snack category with a new line of Oat Crackers, reports Food Business News. The crackers, which are plant-based, Non-GMO Project verified, and gluten-free, are made with whole grain oats combined with almonds, flaxseeds, brown rice, and quinoa. Flavors include classic, rosemary, sesame, and jalapeño.

“We have loyal customers who love our oats, and after listening to their overwhelming requests for more convenience in their lives, it only made sense for us to develop a snack cracker that is wholesome and downright delicious,” said Dennis Vaughn, chief executive officer of Bob’s Red Mill. “Gluten-free snacks can have a reputation for being bland or boring, but our oat crackers rival the classic wheat-based crackers we all grew up eating, so they’re a great option for anyone, whether you’re following a specialty diet or not.”

The crackers are now available on the company’s website and will roll out to Sprouts Farmers Market stores nationwide in mid-June. Full Story

Baskin-Robbins has introduced a new oatmilk-based flavor of ice cream, Non-Dairy Strawberry Streusel, which will be the flavor of the month in May. The ice cream is made with an oatmilk base, strawberry, cinnamon granola, and crumbly streusel.

"We're a brand that's all about creating new flavor experiences and with so many people living plant-based or flexitarian lifestyles today, we couldn't be more excited to launch our new oatmilk-based option," said Shannon Blakely, vice president of marketing & culinary, Baskin-Robbins, in a statement. "We're so passionate about this new base and Flavor of the Month as it's not just an evolution of our offerings, but a sign of our passion and commitment to creating what's 'next' in frozen desserts."

Baskin-Robbins' new oatmilk-based flavor comes just two years after the brand's first non-dairy flavors were launched in 2019. In addition to May's Flavor of the Month, the brand is planning to release additional oatmilk-based flavors later this year.
