Costco Wholesale recently received final approval to build a Michigan warehouse and fuel facility in Fruitport Township. The Fruitport Charter Township Planning Commission voted on the company’s proposal on Tuesday, reports local news source ABC 13.
The Commission’s board members considered the site plan and planned unit development request for construction. After hearing from locals who supported the plan, the board members' votes were unanimously in favor of the development.
"This development fits into the township master plan along with the downtown development authority. Costco is a huge plus for Fruitport and Norton shores," Fruitport Township supervisor Todd Dunham said in a statement.
Costco has three other locations in the West Michigan area: Grand Rapids, Grandville, and Kalamazoo. Full Story
