Kroger has partnered with PackIt, a company that has created collapsible, freezable, reusable totes for grocers, and will begin an operational pilot to support Kroger’s growing ecommerce network.
The PackIt Fresh mobile refrigeration system creates efficiencies in online grocery order fulfillment. The collapsible, freezable, reusable Fresh EcoFreeze totes are a solution for retailers to meet growing storage, pickup, and delivery demands.
“Our EcoFreeze totes ensure a mobile, chilled, food-safe environment that pickup orders can be directly packed into for fresh, curbside pickup for customers,” said Melissa Kieling, founder and president of PackIt, in a statement.
Each PackIt Fresh tote features PackIt’s patented EcoFreeze Technology: freezable gel built into the walls of every PackIt Fresh tote.
The technology keeps perishables cold and food-safe for 15 hours.
