Kroger Enters Summer-Savings Fray
Kroger will launch what it’s calling “a mega-sales event,” that gives Boost by Kroger Plus members access to additional benefits during Boost Bonus Days running July 10-23.
During the two-week event, Boost members and those who join during Boost Bonus Days will receive access to free items and additional discounts including savings on Kroger's private label items, totaling more than $60 in savings. New annual memberships will be discounted by 50 percent and current members can receive half-off their next-year annual membership when they extend from July 10-July 23.
Full priced memberships are $59 a year for next-day delivery and $99 a year for delivery in as little as two hours.
Boost Bonus Days free member exclusives include:
- One free Simple Truth or Simple Truth Organic Place and Bake Cookies
- One free Kroger Brand Spices, any variety
- One free Kroger Brand Cold Cereal, any size, any variety
- One free Private Selection Dry Pasta, 16 oz, any variety
- One free Kroger Brand Bacon, 16 oz, any variety
- One free Kroger Brand Sandwich Bags
Target, meanwhile, is discounting thousands of items as part of Target Circle week for members of its free and paid loyalty programs, through July 13. Consumers can join the retailer's new paid subscription, Target Circle 360, for $49 (regularly $99), if they sign up through July 13.
Membership includes unlimited free same-day delivery for orders over $35 in as little as an hour, free two-day shipping, access to shoppers who can personalize their experience, and access to Shipt Marketplace, which offers same-day delivery from more than 100 retailers nationwide.
The savings events precede Amazon’s Prime Day, scheduled to run July 16 and 17, with millions of exclusive deals for its Prime Members. Customers can join Prime or sign up for a free trial to take part in the savings. An annual membership is $139 a year and includes free delivery among other benefits.
