Industry Event: American Cheese Society Climate Change Series

Specialty Food Association

The Code Red Webinar series hosted by the American Cheese Society gives experts the opportunity to lead conversations around issues that face the dairy and agricultural industries. The first half of this four-part series considered dairy’s ability to contribute positively to health, and why animals should be treated humanely.

Alan Rotz, agricultural engineer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture will host the third part of this series on June 15, titled Dairy & Water: Our Most Valuable Resource. He will be in conversation with Tim Hammerich, communications consultant and Future of Agriculture weekly podcast host, and Bill Wavrin D.V.M., a veterinarian and dairy farmer at Ferndale Farmstead.

The final part of the Webinar series will take place on July 23 and will focus on Greenhouse Gas Emissions. Kurt Dammier, founder of Beechers Handmade Cheese & Mishima Reserve, and Curt Gooch, animal science environment systems and sustainability educator at Cornell University will join Hammerich and Wavrin in this panel-style discussion taking place during the 2022 ACS Annual Conference.

Registration can be found here.
