On Tuesday, Hy-Vee opened a 135,000-square-foot store in Gretna, Nebraska, the grocer’s largest store to date. The location is accompanied by a 6,300-square-foot grocery delivery and pickup service called Aisles Online and a 4,250-square-foot Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh convenience store adjacent to the grocery store.
The store offers an open Food Hall dining area for fast-casual dining, which includes Hy-Vee’s expanded breakfast menu; a pub with full sit-down bar, 32 taps and outdoor patio; Mia Italian; HyChi and Hibachi; Nori Sushi; Market Grille Express; Long Island Deli; and a Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee.
The store also features:
• a bakery featuring artisan and specialty bread, patisserie, and cakes
• a delicatessen including shaved meats and cheeses, specialty cheese, and charcuterie
• a meat counter including a chef’s station, a dry-aged steak case, and packaged meats
• a seafood counter with sustainable seafood options
• a fresh produce area
• an in-store Starbucks
• a Candy Shoppe department with premium, novelty, and nostalgic selections
This location also has a Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits department featuring a walk-in beer cooler, a walk-in humidor, and a walk-in wine room.
The Gretna Hy-Vee includes all-digital shelf labels that display product information and pricing and has more than 100 TVs that feature Hy-Vee products, promotions, and services. Digital kiosks are also available for customers to order custom cakes and freshly prepared foods.
Hy-Vee has invested more than $37 million in the community to build, furnish, and stock the grocery store. The new Gretna Hy-Vee creates more than 628 local jobs, including 128 full-time positions.
