Hannaford Supermarkets announced Thursday that during the second half of 2022 it made upgrades to enhance the overall shopping experience in eight stores and added a Brunswick, New York location.
The 49,000-square-foot Brunswick store includes hot and cold foods bar, a selection of grab-and-go meals, Hannaford To Go online ordering and delivery, and a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru.
The eight remodels to stores in Massachusetts, Maine, New York, New Hampshire, and Vermont completed between, July and December, are part of a larger initiative resulting in 14 total remodels in 2022. These upgrades added 83 self-checkout kiosks for customer convenience and completed 50 energy initiatives to enhance the environmental sustainability of store operations.
“These projects support Hannaford’s commitment to delivering dependable value; fresh, high-quality food; and exceptional service to our customers,” said Hannaford Supermarkets vice president of retail operations, western division, Andrea Nickerson, in a statement. “We thank the many associates involved in bringing these projects to life and look forward to continuing to enhance the shopping experience of our customers in 2023.”
In recognition of Hannaford’s community commitment, the store opening and remodels were commemorated with donations to local nonprofits.
