H Mart, an East Asian grocer, opened today in the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey . The inclusion of the store was announced in 2019 with a projected opening in 2021 but experienced delays, reports Northjersey.com.
The 35,669-square-foot space features fresh produce, groceries, meat, seafood, frozen foods, and more, said Jessie Griffin, spokesperson for the American Dream Mall.
"Supplied directly from its New Jersey warehouse and local farms, H Mart at American Dream will provide a convenient one-stop shop for fresh foods and other essential goods," Griffin said.
The market also includes a food hall with various East-Asian shops including:
• Sang’s Tofu & Grill, a Korean restaurant
• Curry Don Don, a Japanese curry shop
• The Bao Express, a Hong Kong-style dim sum eatery
• Wok Bar, an Asian-fusion restaurant
• K-Town Hero, a Korean sandwich kiosk
• Gold Miss, a shop selling mochi doughnuts and hot dogs
• Gong Cha, a Tea shop
• BBQ Chicken, a Korean chicken restaurant
• Jeong’s Noodle, a Korean-Chinese eatery
• Tous les Jours, a bakery
The grocery chain was founded in Woodside, Queens in 1982 and can be found in 14 states across the country. Full Story
