H-E-B announced yesterday that it has opened a new ecommerce fulfillment center in Leander. This project expands the company’s commitment to scale omnichannel growth by supporting its digital strategy.
The 50,000-square-foot facility will facilitate H-E-B curbside and home delivery orders through many Central Texas cities. The newest facility allows for more capacity, greater efficiency, and better product availability for the shopper. The center will help streamline both the curbside and delivery processes using automation implemented throughout the location, according to the retailer.
“At H-E-B, we’re always looking for ways to offer Texans a better shopping experience and more options to choose how they shop, pay for, and receive their products,” said Kedar Patel, H-E-B vice president of ecommerce, in a statement. “Across our business we are adopting innovative technologies that give our Partners the tools they need to provide top-quality service to our customers whether they shop online or in our stores.”
The Leander facility is the company’s fifth fulfillment center primarily focused on ecommerce. By the end of the year, it hopes to open additional locations, including one in Plano, Texas, to accompany the expansion into Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
