San Francisco’s Ghirardelli Square is home to Ghiradelli’s redesigned flagship chocolate experience store, which intends to elevate the customer experience by giving insight into the chocolate-making craft, according to the company.
The space has been completely redesigned and includes hand-painted murals, vintage Ghirardelli advertising, and interactive features, like a chance to view Ghirardelli chocolatiers making hot fudge.
This is the first phase of renovations that the company will make on Ghirardelli Square. The next will include a renovation of the company’s original ice cream and chocolate shop, which will begin in January of next year.
The opening will be marked by a ribbon-cutting celebration Friday, which will include San Francisco Mayor London Breed in attendance.
"Ghirardelli Square is one of our city's most beloved destinations that tourists and residents always come back to," said Mayor Breed in a statement. "We know that COVID had a significant impact on our tourism industry, and as we continue to recover, it is critical to establish new experiences for everyone to enjoy. Ghirardelli has helped bring people to San Francisco's waterfront for almost 130 years, and they will continue to do so with the reopening of their Chocolate Experience Store."
