FreshDirect announced Tuesday that applications are being accepted for its inaugural one-year incubator program. As part of the initiative, the retailer will help grow selected emerging and diverse-owned businesses.
The FreshDirect Small Business Incubator Program will work with brands to enable them to adapt strategies for ecommerce success, nurture their customer base in NYC and the surrounding area, learn best practices and industry standards, and learn from a FreshDirect Category Manager for one-on-one mentorship, according to the company. The program also seeks to promote diversity within the food system.
This year, FreshDirect plans to launch several new brands into retail as part of this Incubator Program. Final selections will be limited to one brand per category. Winners will also be given the opportunity to launch on the retailer’s website.
Applications may be submitted through April 28.
