Food Lion will open its newest location in Kernersville, North Carolina, tomorrow.
The store will feature fresh sushi and an Asian food bar, a fried chicken and wing bar, in-store cut fruit, and a variety of “grab-and-go” options. There will also be a large selection of organic, gluten-free, and plant-based items, including from Nature’s Promise, Food Lion’s private label brand made without artificial flavors, preservatives, and synthetic colors.
The location will feature various local items, including baked goods from Winston-Salem’s Dewey’s Bakery, granola from Big Boss Baking Company in High Point, and freshly brewed beer from Foothills Brewing in Winston-Salem. Food Lion To Go grocery pickup will also be available from the new location as well as self-checkout lanes.
The store has donated $1,500 each, to three local feeding agencies: Hope To Thrive, Project RE3, and Next Step Ministries. Each of these organizations will also regularly collect food from the store to distribute to distribute through Food Lion Feeds’ food rescue program, in which food is donated to a local feeding agency before the food spoils.
