Food Lion Expands Grocery Pickup to More Locations

Specialty Food Association

Food Lion, the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern grocery store chain with over 1,100 supermarkets across a 10-state footprint, has provided a statement detailing its “To Go” grocery pickup service expansion to 15 more locations across the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. This would bring the Food Lion To Go Total to 577 stores across its footprint.

The launch kicks off just before Labor Day and hopes to facilitate holiday shopping. Orders can be made on the company’s To Go website or app, and users can have their food items loaded directly into their cars.

“We continue to offer Food Lion To Go at additional stores to help our customers spend more time on what matters most to them,” said Evan Harding, director of digital and ecommerce at Food Lion, in a statement. “We want to give neighbors the option to shop however they prefer, in-store or online, while still ensuring they have access to fresh groceries at affordable prices.”

Where allowed by law, customers 21 or older can also purchase beer and wine through this service.

According to Food Lion, another 80 stores are scheduled to expand their services with Food Lion To Go by December.
