Fiesta Mart Opens First New Store in Nine Years

Fiesta Market

Fiesta Mart held a grand opening for its first new store since 2015 this week in Lewisville, Texas.

The 49,000-square-foot location in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex offers a combination of mainstream national brands and an assortment of products from more than 100 different countries, an in-house bakery, a tortilleria, and a restaurant featuring Latin-inspired meals.

The new store also marks the first grand opening in a multi-year remodel plan that calls for the update of all of Fiesta Mart’s locations by the end of 2025.

The grand opening week sales flyer for the new store shows a variety of Latin American products geared toward Hispanic consumers, such as La Morena canned peppers, Café La Llave espresso, Bauducco cookies and crackers, Zambos plantain chips, Cuétara crackers, Zulka Morena pure care sugar, FUD cheeses and meats, and Harina P.A.N., a gluten-free corn flour used to make arepas, empanadas, and various baked goods.

In addition to Latino foods, Fiesta Mart also offers a variety of other international items, including Asian sauces, noodles, snacks, and other cooking ingredients; Caribbean sauces and snacks from brands such as Grace Foods, and a wide assortment of Indian Foods from brands such as Supreme Star and Shan.

The store also features canned and frozen vegetables sold under the First Street private label, a brand also used by Smart & Final, another banner owned by Chedraui USA, Fiesta Mart’s parent company. Chedraui also owns the El Super chain in Los Angeles and other markets in the Southwest.

The retailer’s in-store restaurant concept, Pepe’s Kitchen, offers a menu of pupusas, tortas, burritos, ceviche, aguas frescas, and other traditional fare. Several tables are available for in-store seating. (Pepe is also the name of the chain’s parrot mascot, which made an appearance at the grand opening.)

"Fiesta Mart is known for its unsurpassed commitment to freshness and variety, selection of international products, and excellent customer service,” said Richard Gonzales, senior regional director, Fiesta Mart. “We’ve strategically positioned this new store in one of the Metroplex’s most exciting communities that continues to see record growth and expansion, and we’re excited to offer our one-of-a-kind shopping experience to Lewisville and the surrounding area.”

The grand opening celebration included food samples, giveaways, and mariachi musicians, in addition to the meet-and-greet with Pepe the parrot. Additional store-front events are scheduled for this weekend, June 29-30.
