Evol First Frozen Brand With Carbonfree Certified Product Line

Specialty Food Association

Evol foods will offer eight products this summer that meet Carbonfree Certification carbon neutral requirements.

To be certified Carbonfree, the products underwent third-party lifecycle assessments to calculate and analyze thier gross carbon footprint, then the carbon impact was reduced and offset to achieve a net zero emission goal.

"Evol's philosophy has always been rooted in making great tasting food while doing what's right," said Jill Dexter, vice president and general manager of Better for You and Family Meals, Conagra Brands, parent of Evol, in a statement. "The Certified Carbon Neutral status of these eight frozen meals is a visible step in our journey to help protect the environment."

Many of Evol’s products, including this new product line, is produced in a TRUE Zero Waste Certified Facility, where 90 percent or more of waste is diverted or reduced in the last year.

The full list Evol’s single-serve frozen products to become carbon neutral are as follows:

• Five Cheese Alfredo Mac with Chicken

• Truffle Parmesan Mac & Cheese

• Fire Grilled Steak

• Portabella & Goat Cheese Ravioli

• Butternut Squash & Sage Ravioli

• Chicken Enchilada Bake

• Chipotle Chicken Mac & Cheese

• Teriyaki Chicken

This eco-conscious drive is in line with Conagra brands’ 2030 greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals aiming to reduce or avoid GHG emissions of processes directly related to the creation of its products by 25 percent and decrease emissions from assets and materials not directly controlled by its companies by 20 percent per metric ton of sourced material.
