Dufour Plant-Based Pastry Lands in Whole Foods

Specialty Food Association

Dufour Pastry Kitchens, known for its all-butter pastry dough, has launched a non-GMO and Kosher Plant-Based Pastry Dough that recently became available in Whole Food Markets.

“We’re responding to a new segment of consumers who’ve chosen a vegan lifestyle but don’t want to compromise on quality in alternative foods,” said Carla Krasner, co-founder and owner of Dufour, in a statement. “We’ve worked hard to achieve a pastry dough without butter that delivers an across-the-board appeal and are proud to have arrived at our plant-based dough with just four ingredients: organic flour, ethically sourced palm fruit oil, water, and sea salt.”

Intended for both savories and sweets, new product is easy to roll and shape for veggie pot pies, tarts, empanadas, cinnamon sugar palmiers, and hand pies, according to the company.

Dufour is a 20-time sofi award winning company and is women-owned and -operated from its facility in the South Bronx.
