Chick-fil-A Tests Drone Delivery

Fast food operator Chick-fil-A is piloting free meal delivery via drones in Brandon, Florida, reports USA Today.

"Drone delivery is now here at Chick-fil-A E. Brandon/Valrico only!," wrote the franchise on Facebook. "For a limited time, order Chick-fil-A Delivery and enjoy a $0 delivery fee."

The drone delivery service is available Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., shared the restaurant.

After a drone delivery order is placed via the app, the meal is loaded into a white box which is then attached to the drone and sent to the delivery location.

The decision to offer drone services is consistent with the restaurant’s goal of innovating with delivery, according to Chick-fil-A.

“Chick-fil-A is always exploring new ways to provide the best experience for our guests," a spokesperson at the fast-food restaurant chain told USA Today. "We are in the early stages of testing drone delivery at a small number of Chick-fil-A restaurants." The other locations were not disclosed. Full Story
