Amazon Brings Palm Identification to More Locations

Specialty Food Association

Amazon is expanding its Amazon One pay-with-your-palm biometric identification and payment system to three physical retail locations in the Seattle area, reports The Spoon. The technology, which was launched last September, scans a user’s palm to give them access to a store or facilitate payment at checkout. Users just hold their hand over the device and their palm print is associated with a credit card and mobile phone number.

With this expansion, 12 total Amazon retail locations will be equipped with the technology, including Amazon Go, Go Grocery, Amazon 4-Star, Amazon Books, and Amazon Pop-Up locations. Full Story
