Today, discount grocer Aldi and DoorDash partnered to bring on-demand grocery delivery to almost all the supermarket’s locations across 38 states. This addition now means that over 98 percent of DoorDash’s monthly U.S. consumers have access to a non-restaurant store on the platform.
“By partnering with DoorDash, we can conveniently bring our award-winning, fresh, and affordable groceries to even more of our customers’ doors with the click of a button,” said Scott Patton, VP of national buying at Aldi, in a statement. “Whether shopping for a weekly grocery haul or in need of a few extra ingredients for tonight’s dinner, our customers now have another way to shop Aldi for all their grocery needs.”
Through this partnership, consumers can shop for Aldi’s produce, meat, seafood, dairy, bread, household essentials, and “Aldi Finds,” on the digital platform’s app or website. This partnership highlights DoorDash’s commitment to providing value to its users at a time when grocery prices are heightened, according to the company.
"Aldi has been one of our consumers' most highly requested grocers. We’re thrilled to welcome the beloved Aldi brand to DoorDash,” said Fuad Hannon, VP of new verticals at DoorDash, in a statement. “Our partnership with Aldi provides customers access to the retailer’s affordable staples and cult favorites with the speed and reliability of DoorDash.”
DoorDash launched on-demand grocery delivery in 2020. It currently has over 100,000 non-restaurant stores on the platform across the U.S.
