A Trio of Specialty Stores Are Coming to Las Vegas

A Whole Foods Market, H Mart, and Wineaux are all set to debut in Las Vegas later this year, bringing the local community expanded selections of specialty products, Asian delights, and eclectic wines.

Howard Hughes Holdings Inc., developer of the Summerlin community in Las Vegas, said a Whole Foods Market will anchor the 400-acre community’s walkable urban core.

“Whole Foods Market is known for its standards of excellence and being an industry leader when it comes to natural and organic foods, and we believe it is an ideal addition to the Summerlin community,” said Frank Stephan, president of the Nevada Region for Howard Hughes, in a statement.

Construction is slated for the third quarter of this year. This will be the fourth Whole Foods Market location within the Howard Hughes portfolio—following openings in Columbia, Maryland, The Woodlands in Texas, and Ward Village in Honolulu.

The city is also awaiting the opening of Korean grocer and food hall H Mart. The chain is known for its extensive selection of packaged Asian snack foods as well as its assortment of banchan, Korean side dishes such as kimchi, and other seasoned vegetables and seafood that are key to traditional Korean cuisine. They also tout an East Asian-focused assortment of fresh produce, meat, seafood, groceries, frozen foods, and health and beauty products.

The food hall portion of the location will include Jopok Topokki, Moobongri Soondae, Bb.q Chicken, Paik’s Noodle, Oh-K Dog & Egg Toas, and Tiger Sugar.

An eagerly-awaited wine bar and shop will also soon open in the Sundry Food Hall at the UnCommons mixed-use development. Led by James Beard award-winning chef Shawn McClain, the spot will offer an edited selection of international wines to explore.

“Wineaux at UnCommons will give wine lovers the experience they’ve been looking for; we are so excited to bring the concept to life in an incredible location,” McClain told local news source Las Vegas Review Journal.
