Modern Pant Based Foods, a Canadian food company, is innovating on the ghost kitchen concept with the “Modern Commissary,” a stocked facility for local food businesses in the Vancouver area.
"There is an abundance of local and ethnic talent in the [Canadian] lower mainland, and we are ecstatic to be able to offer an accessible and well-equipped kitchen facility for passionate food and beverage companies to do what they love,” said Modern Plant Based Foods CEO Avtar Dhaliwal, in a statement. “Our community-focused approach aims to provide affordable means for companies to continue to innovate and grow. The facility is well equipped and can provide the necessary scalability needed for growing business and allows the company to better utilize its space while generating additional revenue.”
The facility provides the tenants with 24/7 access to the space, including the use of all the equipment, storage solutions, packing machines, and more. The company intends to enable startups to scale their operations, particularly those in the research and development phase, so that they can more easily get products onto shelves.
